Just this morning I was talking to this guy, and he said something that held much meaning to me, and I was like, I gotta share it with y'all~ =)
So here's what Paul (that's his name =P) said: "Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do:
Forget what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the
to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
At times I wonder when I'd go under the sudden transformation from a home-sick freshie to a jaded, seasoned overseas student who's used to the crumminess of everything foreign. =P I'm not xenophobic or anything, I'm just... enthnocentric I guess. I simply think everything back home is better. Even the popcorn back in Ipoh Parade is better. Gosh Keong and I used to go there
just to get the popcorn ok.
But I know that's not true. Everywhere is the same; there're the good and the bad, everywhere. I like the yogurts here. 0=) And the way I can catch cool movies the weekend they are released; it's like, I'm actively involved in shaping the weekly box office ticket sales and everything! My presence here matters! ...Sure... ;)
Oh who am I kidding. I miss Keong. If all the laksa, cendol, guavas and mangoes are banned or simply disappeared in Malaysia, I'd still be happy to go home.
But I can't always be counting the days before I go home. I gotta live my life here as well. It feels like climbing the 8-peak mountains in Lumut all over again, but trying is better than doing nothing about it. Gotta focus on the prize ahead. Ciaoz.
At times I sit in my room
Staring at the telephone
Tempting me to pick it up
But I held on
A rash decision
Just not the way
I know better
I called you
Did you notice
I wanted to hear you
Wanted to hold on
To every breath you took
Silence hung heavy
My heart beats fast
I miss you
