A dashing 24-year-old man narrowly escaped death and possible facial mutilation when a car swerved and turned the opposite way of the highway.
It was a rainy night when Jason... Kaneishiro drove to Penang from Ipoh. His mother had prayed for him before he left. "The journey mercy thing," Kaneishiro said.
Halfway through the journey, he saw two Perdanas trying to overtake him so he stayed put on the left lane, conscious of the fact that it was raining and the highway slopes and curves were forces to be reckoned with. It was not long before he saw a car appearing in the dark before him, but this was no ordinary situation. "I saw two white
jugs headlights coming closer and close at me! Right in front of me! I was stuck!" Kaneishiro exclaimed, his eyes as wide as
jugs saucepans. And indeed he was, sandwiched between the railings that separated him from the long drop to oblivion and the two cars on the right lane. It was a tense moment, he had no idea what he should do...
Two seconds later, he found himself back on the road, driving in the dark night, and the Perdanas already overtaken him. He looked back and found the stationery car behind him, facing the wrong way.
"It happened so fast," Kaneishiro said. "Two seconds later, the car in front of me was gone, I was back on the road and the Perdanas overtook me."
It was soon revealed that the stationery car was going too fast on the highway, swerved and turned itself the wrong way. "Stupid people, huh?" Kaneishiro commented, shaking his head with disapproval.
According to Mrs Kaneishiro, God was the one who had saved her son. "The Lord picked him up and placed him in front of the car. He heard my prayers," Mrs Kaneishiro proclaimed with conviction. She had insisted that her son share his miraculous experience with her cell group members.
Kaneishiro was not on crack when the incident happened.
