speechless Steve Irwin is dead. It's pretty surreal. Found out thru the MSN nicknames of friends in Aussie, and initially I thought it was juz a joke, coz me dad told me the exact same thing once last May, and that he read about it on a Chinese newspaper. But this time it's real. For some reason it saddens me. Maybe coz I've watched the Crocodile Hunter whenever I happen to channel surf upon it, maybe coz it's difficult to believe someone who always seemed so alive and enthusiastic even thru TV is dead, just like that. And not by crocs and snakes, but by some rare stingray. Somemore Agassi lost. =P His last moments on the court was so emotional. GaAahh it's too early in the morning to lament about the meaning of life. Saturday, September 02, 2006 @ 4:35 AM
lak-kee~ Someone was running across the street, obviously shocked that the bus came early. I peeked at the stony-faced driver - there was no way she was gonna stop for the poor guy. She'd run him over if he din run fast enough. Sure enough, she drove right on, even when he waved his bus pass pitifully as the bus rumbled past him. Then she stopped. About 30 feet away from where he stood. Oh maybe she juz din notice him at first, I thought. Maybe humanity isn't doomed. She opened the door, he jumped in, thanking her profusely... but she wasn't looking at him. She was looking past him, waving her hand at someone to come over. I turned and saw these two ladies decking out their stuff for a garage sale tomorrow. Chairs, tables, you name it. The driver honked. One of the ladies looked back inquiringly. "How much you selling for that camp chair??" The driver practically yelled past the poor guy who was still trying to catch his breath. And then the negotiations started. "Ok, I get off at 2pm, so I can come over and get it," the driver said. Then she drove off, never once acknowledging the guy panting right next to her. Except to wave him aside so she could talk to the garage sale lady, of coz. Not that he cared. Shrugging to himself, he made his way to the back of the bus. All I can say is, that guy must be having one of the luckiest days of his life. =P |
